Infants/ Sprouts

(6 weeks – 16 months)

Our infant program is a partnership between our teachers and parents. Together, you and your child’s teachers will develop a daily schedule that meets the individual needs of your infant. Our staff will provide a nurturing environment with responsive care and the experiences that are essential to the growth and development of your child. Your infant will experience an environment that is designed specifically for them.

Here at Sprouts, we are so excited to get to know and care for your baby.

Toddlers/ Sprouts

(16 months – 33 months)

Our toddler program consists of discovery filled days for your child. Our professional preschool staff at Sprouts will nurture your child’s curiosity, help them feel secure, and create a language-rich environment full of meaningful interactions. Sprouts uses Creative Curriculum as a guide to help our teachers and give your child hands-on learning activities. Your child will learn verbal and non-verbal skills through story telling, reading books, and singing songs. We help your young child explore concepts such as cause-and-effect, trial-and-error, problem-solving, and flexibility through intentional teaching and purposeful play.

In our toddler rooms, we introduce “family style” meals in the classroom with chairs and tables that are just their size. Our toddler rooms lead directly out to a fenced-in playground specifically designed for them.

Infant, Toddler & Two's Curriculum

(yes, even infants have a curriculum too)

Creative Curriculum for infants, toddlers, and twos is based on 38 objectives for development and learning, which are fully aligned with the School Readiness Goals for Infants and Toddlers in Head Start

and early learning standards for the State of Minnesota. It guides our teachers and caregivers to implement developmentally appropriate practices and offer responsive daily routines and experiences for young children. Curriculum for infants and young toddlers involves everything we do; caring for children in a compassionate, respectful manner enables children to become compassionate and respectful themselves.

3/4 Preschool/ Sprouts

(33 months – 4 years)

Sprouts Childcare & Early Education Center’s preschool program is the first big stepping stone in getting your child ready for Kindergarten. Through the Creative Curriculum® we will help your child build their confidence in the classroom. Our preschool program includes creating a safe and secure learning environment so that your child feels comfortable to explore and take risks. At Sprouts, we believe that children are creative, capable, and competent. Our staff will help your child build friendships by modeling respectful relationships and providing opportunities for children to work together. Children at Sprouts will learn conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. The daily schedule in our preschool rooms provides flexibility and consistency.

Creative Curriculum® for preschoolers involves everything we do, from individual work to working with others. Preschoolers will enjoy healthy family style meals in the classroom that follow the guidelines set by the CACFP. Our preschool classrooms lead out to a large fenced-in playground area with large commercial grade equipment that is designed specifically for their age and development. Sprouts will offer many weekly enrichment activities such as Zumba and music lessons that are included in each child’s tuition.

Our teachers track your child’s progress through our child assessment portfolio system and daily communication tools. Teachers use this information to share your child’s growth each day and during Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Our Preschool Curriculum®

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is not only research based but it is research proven. It provides our teachers a guide to create a high-quality learning environment and build children’s confidence, creativity, critical thinking skills, and promote positive outcomes. The goals and objectives of Creative Curriculum include each child’s Social/Emotional Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development, and Language Development.

Kindergarten Prep/ Sprouts

(4 yrs - 1st day of Kindergarten)

Sprouts Childcare & Early Education Center’s Kindergarten Prep program is the second stepping stone to making sure that your child is successful in school and in life. Our teachers will use Creative Curriculum as a guide to ensure that your child is advancing in all pre-academic areas such as math, science, and literacy. At Sprouts, we believe that the best way to help children be successful is to teach them to be creative, confident thinkers. We will accomplish this by offering them opportunities for discovery and hands-on exploration that help build lifelong critical thinking skills that foster confidence. Our staff will help your child build friendships by modeling respectful relationships and providing opportunities for children to work together.

School Age/ Sprouts

(Kindergarten – Age 12)

Children ages 5-12 can be enrolled in our before and after school program. An afternoon snack, enrichment activities, and homework help are implemented through this program. We realize that school agers have different needs so older children will be able to plan their own afternoon schedule. Some children will want to work and play independently while others will require some downtime after school. Our school-age teachers and staff will partner with parents and encourage and guide the children while allowing them a sense of independence. Transportation will be provided by Grisim Bus Company to and from Stewartville Public Schools.
